What artwork a printer actually needs

By

Paper glasses printed with an orange and teal wave, beside a curved cutout of the unrolled cup wall and a pencil, on kraft paper

Most printed-glass orders slow down at the same step: the artwork. A logo copied from a website or a WhatsApp forward is usually too small to print cleanly on a glass.

Send the original file

A vector file, such as SVG, PDF or AI, can be scaled to any size without going soft. If you only have a PNG or JPG, send the largest version you have. The Logo Studio checks the resolution of your file at the size it will print and warns you below 150 DPI.

The file your designer sent you is almost always better than the one on your website.

The glass is not a rectangle

A paper glass is printed flat, as a curved blank, and then formed into a tapered shape. Artwork has to sit on that curve, clear of the seam and the rim. Final artwork is confirmed against the die-line before printing, so what you approve is what goes on the glass.

Small glasses have a short print band. On sizes under 110 ml a wide logo reads small, and the next size up often gives it room.

Our artwork requirements and printing process are on the custom printing page.
